The densest colour so far, from the lowest yielding vineyard. 4 barrels in a third of a hectare. The bouquet is a little less joyous though, with a more sombre fruit. There is a dark fruit on the palate, more plums than berries, reasonably full but lacking the precision of the best wines. Always a bit like that in youth, thinks Charles. Drink from 2026-2032. Tasted: November 2022 Jasper Morris 88-91
This is a ripe yet cool and elegant 2021 with its aromas that derive from the dark side of the fruit spectrum. There is both more refinement and delineation to the gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors that flash even more minerality on the balanced, compact and vibrant finish. This is lovely and a wine that should repay a decade, or perhaps a bit more, keeping. Burghound 91-93 Outstanding
