A mildly fruity nose displays mostly red berry scents that are trimmed in just enough wood and earth to notice. There is fine verve to the relatively light weight flavors that exhibit a touch of warmth on the supple finish. This could use more depth though it's not clear that more will necessarily develop before the tannins have resolved as this is already pretty forward. Burghound 89
A cuvée that joined the range in 2000 and has gone from strength to strength in the last few vintages, the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Aux Coucherias mingles aromas of cassis and raspberries with hints of spice and rich forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, gourmand and lively, with powdery tannins and a fleshy core of fruit, it will offer a broad drinking window. William Kelly 89-91
