“Healthy dark red. Blackberry, blueberry, licorice, crushed rock, wild herbs and bitter chocolate on the nose; smells a bit austere. Then surprisingly textured on the palate, with sweet dark berry flavors complemented by a note of dark chocolate. The tannins are still a bit youthfully tough but this rather closed wine nonetheless spreads out to saturate the palate on the back end.” (January, 2016)
