Somewhat curiously, in 2009 this is actually more elegant than is typical with a ripe, pure and pretty nose of apple and white orchard fruit aromas that lead to dense, powerful and muscular broad-scaled flavors that manage to keep fine detail on the palate staining finish. This is a big wine and while it's by no means as refined as the Côte de Bouguerots, it's not heavy or overtly rustic either. Burghound 93
