Pale, bright yellow. Yellow peach, honey and spicy oak on the nose, complicated by pear and wild herbs. A bit drier and more phenolic than the Vergers, and less open in the early going, but shows an attractive balance of ripe fruit and acidity. A wine of moderate flesh and depth, finishing with a suggestion of anise. Vinous/Steve Tanzer 90-92
This is also quite strongly reduced so some time in a decanter would be beneficial. There is outstanding richness to the seductively textured and opulent flavors that coat the palate with dry extract while the citrus-tinged acidity is sufficiently firm to maintain the balance on the saline-inflected finish. This too will be approachable young if desired. Burghound 91
