Triennes was created in 1989 as a partnership between two of the greatest Burgundy Vignerons, Jacques Seysses (Domaine Dujac), Aubert Villaine (Domaine de la Romanee Conti) and one of their mutual friends Michael Macaux. They were in search of a location that would allow them to make wines the way they like to drink them. That is to say for the whites and rose wines with great freshness and aromatics. They decided on a location in Provence for its gently sloping hillside with southern exposure. They saw its cool microclimate and its clay and limestone soils as ideal for viticulture. The estate was named Triennes, a reference to Triennia, the festival for Bacchus, which was held every three years during Roman times. The prefix “Tri” serving as a reminder of the three original partners.
The blend here is mostly Cinsault blended with Grenache and Syrah. A very traditional Provence rose that is marked by freshness. You will be amazed at how easy this goes down! Pick some up today!
