A ripe and brooding nose features mostly notes of dark currant and pungent earth along with a whiff of brett. There is a distinctly sauvage quality to the opulent yet serious medium weight flavors that possess unusually good density for the genre, all wrapped in a leather-inflected and structured finale. For the record the brett is pretty subtle and I suspect that most would not be bothered by it, but subtle or not, it's incumbent upon me to note its presence. Burghound 86
