Once again there is enough oak present to remark on though not so much to mask the green fruit, pear and abundant Chablis character that includes oyster shell and tidal pool nuances. The big, indeed even burly flavors exhibit excellent richness and mid-palate concentration as well as seriously impressive power and persistence on the slightly rustic finale. This will require patience Burghound 91-94
(50% in tank and 50% in barrel, including 3% new oak): Pale, green-tinged yellow. High-pitched aromas of lime, white pepper and spices. Densely packed and rich but tightly wound and youthfully austere, with classic saline minerality to the citrus peel and pepper flavors. This very fine-grained wine finishes with terrific energy, grip and spicy length. Vinous/Steve Tanzer 91-94
