By John Gilman Nov/Dec 2012, Issue #42, 11/1/2012 93+ points (Chablis “Montée de Tonnerreâ€- Domaine Louis Michel et Fils) The 2011 Montée de Tonnerre had only been bottled a few weeks prior to my visit, but was showing very, very well. The beautifully complex and youthful nose jumps from the glass in a mix of green apple, sweet grapefruit, complex minerality, a touch of youthful grassiness, citrus peel and a topnote of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very minerally in personality, with a superb core of fruit, crisp acids and excellent length and grip on the focused and youthful finish. This is does not deliver the same electricity as the 2010, but it will not demand much cellaring either before it really starts to drink at its apogee. (Drink between 2014-2030) By Allen Meadows Oct-12, Issue #48, 10/1/2012, (link) 91-94 points (Domaine Louis Michel Chablis "Montée de Tonnerre" 1er 1er Cru White) Discreet notes of algae, oyster shell and white flowers slide gracefully into rich, concentrated and overtly muscular middle weight flavors that possess both excellent volume and palate staining dry extract. The sheer depth here is most impressive as is the persistence on the borderline bone dry finish. (Drink starting 2017)
