Allen Meadows' Burghound, January 2010 A classic Gevrey nose of pungent earth, underbrush and a sauvage note to the red and dark berry fruit aromas. There is also a touch of wood that does not affect the transparency of the very rich, full-bodied and minerally flavors that possess ample amounts of mouth coating dry extract that also largely buffer the chewy, serious and dense tannic spine on the long, intense and driving finish. Excellent. 91-93 points and Outstanding!.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, January/February 2011 ($91) Good deep red. Very ripe but reticent aromas of black cherry, game and pepper. Silky-sweet but youthfully tight; like a few of these samples, this round wine gained dramatically in verve and definition with aeration. Finishes with very good lift. Â 89-92 points.
