Firm reduction presently overshadows the underlying fruit. More interesting are the impressively constituted broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract that carries over to intensely stony, powerful and equally long finale. This gorgeous effort is classier than the Corton-Charlemagne, but it’s not qualitatively better, at least not at this very early juncture. (93-96)/2032+ Burghound
