2020 Borgeot Santenay Clos de la Comme Dessus

Its not often I get this excited about a wine, especially something from Santenay. There is just no way around what Pascal and Laurent Borgeot are doing. I plan to pay them a visit in January to see for myself first hand why these wines have such character and dimension. Spectacular in so many ways! You taste this one blind hard not to think you are drinking a 1er cru from one of the more famous appelations. Chisled, minerality with citrus hints and a touch of flint on the nose. Love the length and energy this one has. This is a complete wine with mouth coating intensity, with one of those finishes that comes in waves as you feel the energy and acidity in your jaw long after you have swallowed. These are the kind of wines I love drinking and selling these days - no press, no crazy prices, just flat out pure White Burgundy. Offers tremendous drinking pleasure right now but with enough power and structure that a few years in the cellar is only going to see some more upside potential. I took a case home the other night, not sure I can keep my hands off it but did tuck a few bottles out of sight to watch this one develop. Can't recommend this one highly enough!
