This is the first wine to exhibit any phenolic character (think olive or nut oil) on the otherwise very fresh mélange of passion fruit, pear and citrus peel. The less concentrated and powerful medium weight flavors compensate by offering a finer mouth feel as well as a lovely minerality on the chiseled and sneaky long finish. Like the Haut des Crays, this needs to add depth but the underlying material appears to be up to the job. Burghound 90-92 Outstanding!
