This is aromatically all but mute with its highly reserved nose of wild red berries that are interwoven with plenty of earth, wet stone, spice and sauvage hints. There is a wonderfully refined and seductive, even suave texture to the succulent medium weight and once again pungently mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess driving energy on the detailed, palate coating and gorgeously persistent finish. This is almost always the best wine in the Pavelot range and it may well be again, but the Gravains is definitely going to give it a run for its money. Burghound 91-94 Sweet Spot
