2014 Droin, Jean Paul & Benoit Chablis Vaudesir

Vaudesir is a generous wine that might be the most elegant of all the wines in the line up.  Its from a warmer terrioir and on this day quite open and expressive.  White peach and minerals are very open and present on the nose.  In the mouth the wine is more precise than the rich fat nose might indicate and it finishes with nice precision and lentght - Excellent quality here that probably drinks earlier than some of the others in the lineup. As it usually is this is riper with mildly exotic hints of white peach and pear on the nose of mineral reduction, iodine and shellfish. There is excellent richness to the concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that exhibit absolutely no sense of heaviness as there is a firm core of acidity providing for both balance and structure on the intensely mineral-driven finish that is more refined than the description would suggest. In brief this is very, very impressive though patience definitely required.   Burghound 94
