2014 Clavelier Nuits St Georges 1er Aux Cras

A strikingly broad and cool array blends a variety of red berries, spice elements, floral wisps and a hint of sandalwood. There is almost painful intensity to the tension and mineral-laden medium-bodied flavors that are laser beam-like in their focus, all wrapped in a tautly muscular yet refined finale. Stylistically I would describe this as half Nuits and half Vosne but either way, it's terrific.  Burghound 92-94
