2010 Bize Savigny Les Beaune Aux Forneaux

The 2010 Fourneaux from Patrick Bize was another of the very short -croppedwines in the domaine’s lineup, as the vintage only produced twenty-eight hectoliters perhectare in 2010. This had been racked into tank one month prior to my visit and wasshowing stunning potential, as it soars from the glass in a blaze of cassis, dark berries,espresso, dark minerality and a bit of bonfire in the upper register. On the palate the wineis deep, full-bodied and very, very pure on the attack, with a superb core of fruit, still avery primary personality, excellent focus and balance and outstanding length and grip onthe ripely tannic and refined finish.
