Burghound (Allen Meadows) 90-93. Sweet Spot, Outstanding.
"Exotic fruit aromas mixed with grapefruit and warm stone notes leads to oyster shell suffused flavors that are utterly delicious, round, intense and mineral-laden and unlike several of the other negociant wines in the range that suffered a lack of overall depth, that is not the case here. In a word, impressive juice."

"Pale yellow-green. Delicate white peach and mango fruit notes complicated by pepper and nutmeg. Fairly powerful on the attack, then relatively sweet and open in the middle palate, offering less obvious class than the last couple of wines but good freshness to its fruit. There's a bit less in reserve here, and yet this wine will still need a couple years of bottle aging. There's more sucrosite here, and an impression of lower acidity, but the actual acid level here is still a very healthy 4.7 grams per liter, according to Seguier."

"The Fevre 2008 Chablis Mont-de-Milieu - from purchased fruit, but this year picked by the Fevre team - smells of fresh lime and distilled raspberry along with alkaline, oceanic notes. Its cut, clarity, and brightness reflect not just the vintage but its relatively cool, eastern exposure, yet there is a richness of extract to ward off severity and a protracted, vibrant, shimmering finishing intensity that perfectly integrates bitter hints of herbs and fruit pit. As Seguier points out, these vines really bounced back with a vengeance from the savage hailing they sustained in 2007, and perhaps there is even a connection with high quality by way of the vine’s conservation of energy this year. I would expect this to perform admirably for 6-8 years."
