(from a .60 ha parcel where two-thirds of the vines are more than 70+ years of age). A very densely fruited nose only grudgingly reveals liqueur-like aromas of plum, dark pinot and plenty of earth elements. There is once again a beguiling sense of energy to the even more mineral-driven if less muscular flavors that display the classic youthful austerity of a fine Gravains, all wrapped in a balanced, long and complex finale. In contrast to several wines in the range, this is going to require some bottle age before it’s completely ready for prime time. Burghound 92/2025+
