The old vines in Chapelle-Chambertin have also turned out an exemplary bottle in this outstanding vintage, as the wine offers up a deep, pure and utterly classic bouquet of red and black cherries, grilled meats, espresso, a touch of mustard seed, lovely soil tones and a deft framing of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely reserved on the attack, with a sappy core of fruit, excellent soil inflection, ripe tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and very beautifully balanced finish. A great Chapelle in the making. (Drink between 2020-2075) 95 points John Gilman - View from the Cellar Like all of the Gevrey grands crus in the Jadot ranges, this is also exceptionally fresh and cool with obvious minerality to the red berry fruit, humus and forest floor aromas. There is superb intensity to the mineral-driven and beautifully well-delineated large-scaled flavors that possess an extremely firm, mouth coating and driving finish. There is a real sense of underlying tension with an overt austerity to the very serious and stunningly long finish. The En Gémeaux character of pungent minerality is about as front and center as I have ever seen it. Burghound 92-94
