bit finer with more emphasis on spice and mineral-infused earth notes that
can also be found on the complex and classic Nuits flavors that are at once
robust but not really rustic, all wrapped in a sappy, dense and equally
serious finish that offers outstanding length. This too possess terrific
aging potential and is recommended. 90-92 points and Outstanding
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar,
Red-ruby. Highly aromatic nose of black
raspberry, flowers and peppery spices. Sweet and intense, with brooding
but sharply delineated black fruit flavors accented by violet. This seems
more perfumed and a bit less sauvage than usual (showing less of the typical
sloe berry quality of the cru, notes Gouges). Finishes with fine but gripping
tannins that arrive late, and terrific aromatic persistence. 90-93 points
