This too is quite floral yet at the same time manages to be more elegant with its wafting nose of iodine, apple and oyster shell hints. There is terrific energy to the refined, detailed and saline-inflected medium-bodied flavors where an intense minerality adds lift to the clean and dry finish. Here the more expressive nose is quite floral with a pretty and very layered mix of white orchard fruit, iodine and a hint of tidal pool. Once again there is excellent richness to the intense and markedly mineral-inflected flavors that possess plenty of saline character on the dry, long and seductive finale. The 2015 Morgon has a clean and vibrant bouquet with perfumed dark cherries, redcurrant, a touch of gravel and touches of rose petal. The palate is nicely structured, brimming over with energy. The acidity is very well judged, quite sturdy as Morgon should be, no hard edges here but just the background "hum" of tension from start to finish. The 2015 Kirschheck Spätlese is a classic example in the making, as here the filigree ofthe vintage is very much in evidence. The nose wafts from the glass in a very pure and classyblend of apple, white cherry, beautiful slate undertow, wild yeasts, bee pollen and a topnote ofapple blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-full and shows lovely inner tension, witha fine girdle of acidity, excellent focus and grip and a long, complex finish.
